While Ryuk looks incredibly „CGI“ in the real-live-action adaption of japanese anime „Death Note“, I still like these hilariously surreal sequences between Light Yagami and him. Probably because the CGI look & feel just fits to the stylistic break between the real world and the one of a Shimigami. Or just because Ryuk is such a damn cool character.
Right now, I’m pretty much enjoying the live action movie. I did not really expect that, considering the movie looking just like a cheap rip-of with much less tension as the anime series. It’s definetively different, but still a damn good story. And in the german rental version, Light has even the same voice-over like in the anime series.
Worth a try if you’re a Death Note addictive like me.
Nette Adaption. Das Ende ist sogar ein ganz interessanter, alternativer Plot. Sonst dem Anime erstaunlich treu geblieben.
