So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed

I like Jon Ronson, his books, presentations or documentaries. His new book „So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed“ comes out in March and discusses Twitter shitstorms, namely the Adria Richards incident. I hope, this might be a great contribution to the ever ongoing sexist-shitstorm-debate that’s now so ever present in the internet, if someone only wears a certain t-shirt.

Take a look in this exclusive extract for what’s in store with the new book. Looking forward to it.

  1. Try to understand the spirit of our times. As far as I can see, all sides provide for a nice portion of agressive hostility against each others. Dum idea.Taking regular money from an employer makes you an loyal employee. The companies and corps are into politics nowadays, they have a public profile which provides for acceptance and profit. So,boys and girls, if you want to fight gender wars publicly, get independent and and expand your right to do what you have to do. To Miss Richards: Grow up. Meetings should be like 2:2, not 2:1. To the developers: Grow beyond the kindergarden, and don´t risk the families security with idiotic men´s club comments, just because you´re bored. To the Corporation´s managers: How many shit must happen to make you understand that vertical hierarchies are counterproductive?
